7. Does the firm maintain Workman's Compensation and Liability Insurance
Yes, the firm cannot stress enough how important it is for an association to hire only contractors maintaining a workman's compensation policy (not an exemption form). The firm carries a full workman's compensation policy and maintains a $1,000,000 liability policy. Also maintained is a Bond for the administration work.

8. How does the firm hire managers?
SCPM hires a candidate that is likely to succeed in the management function and then starts them in the field during the schooling process so the manager candidate will be familiar with areas of maintenance in communities including pools, irrigation, electrical troubleshooting, painting, etc. After several months of field work and of course, a successful score on the state exam, the manager moves into a portfolio that has been with the firm for several years. This is a great place for a manager to “cut his teeth” and understand the day-to-day tasks and begin to understand the entire flow of communication and data. Then, a manager can begin to move into new buildings/contracts, which allow them to grow as professionals and begins to “vest” them with the firm.
